YOUTH CLUB

Youth Almighty now run a youth club on Monday evenings from 6.00 pm until 8.00 pm for ages 12 to 19. Activities include pool, table tennis, X Box games, Wii games, access to computers and trips out. It is your youth club and Youth Almighty are looking for your ideas. Why not come along and let them know what you would like to do?

TODDLER GROUP

toddler group in plains farm sunderlandToddler GroupPlains Farm Toddlers Group meets every Tuesday afternoon in the Community Initiative building. The group provides an opportunity for pre-school children to interact and socialise, while providing their carers with a chance to enjoy some time with friends as well as a cup of tea and a chat. The group are always looking for new members.

Tuesday 1.00 pm - 3.00 pm


PLAINS FARM KIDZ CLUB

Plains Farm Kidz Club is an activity for children aged 5-11 years. It is run by volunteers and the aim of the group is to provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to meet and have fun with friends.The group meets every Wednesday from 5.30pm to 7.30pm and costs just £1.00 entrance fee.

Activities include: Pool, Arts & Crafts, Playstation, Outdoor Games, Table Football, Air Hockey

COFFEE MORNING

Every Thursday morning between 9.00 am and 11.00 am why not come along to the Initiative Building for a cup of coffee and a chat with friends. You can also make new friends or catch up with friends you haven't seen for some time. We also play a game of Bingo and are sometimes entertained by the children from the Kindergarten.

This is becoming more and more popular so why not come along to have a relaxing two hours!


RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION

The Plains Farm & Humbledon Residents Association, formed in July 2008, is working with local Councillors, local Police and other local agencys to try to improve conditions on the estate and to encourage and foster a renewed community spirit. If you are concerned about anything on the estate and are willing to try to improve matters please come along to our meetings held in the Community Initiative Building.

Successes include road safety measures on Premier Road, action to reduce anti social behaviour and improvements to the school wall.

Meetings are held once a month and will be advertised in the Sunderland Echo. For more information please ring 0191 5250007.



SLIMMING WORLD

Have you over indulged at Christmas? Too much turkey, roast potatoes, Christmas pudding and mince pies? Could you do with losing those extra pounds? Slimming World run sessions in the Community Initiative building on Thursday evenings. Anyone who is interested in this group should ring Ray on 0191 5250007 or read the Plains Farm & Humbledon Down Your Way column in the Sunderland Echo.

Sessions are held every Thursday from 6.30 - 8.00 pm


PLAINS FARM & HUMBLEDON "DOWN YOUR WAY" COLUMN

Every Tuesday evening, in the Sunderland Echo, you can read about activities and events taking place in the Community Initiative building and surrounding areas. The column is also available to pass on good wishes for  those special birthdays and anniversaries. A regular feature of the column is the history of Plains Farm & Humbledon and old photos of the residents and the school are often included. If you have a story or a photo of times gone by in the area please ring Ray on 0191 5250007. You can also ring this number if you have an event to advertise.


PLAINS FARM & HUMBLEDON COMMUNITY INITIATIVE

Plains Farm & Humbledon Community Initiative Ltd is a registered charity.It is run by a Board of Trustees, which is drawn mainly from the local community.

The Board make decisions on activities, manage funding and budgets and are responsible for how the Initiative is run. The future of the Initiative relies on it’s members. New members are always welcome. Please get involved.
