Art Competition                                 Tenpin Bowling                             Teddy Bear's Picnic

Thanks to funding received from Sunderland TPCT Healthy Cities Programme a number of activities have taken place for children, parents and carers in Plains Farm and Humbledon.

ART COMPETITION

Plainsy's Got Talent - an art competition was held in June, where children were asked to create a garden design for the new community allotment. The entries were all wonderful and we would like to thank Councillor Peter Gibson for judging the competition and presenting the prizes at the awards ceremony.

TENPIN BOWLING

Learning Tenpin Bowling Techniques - a group of children, parents and carers, over the course of two days, were given a brief session on the history of Tenpin Bowling and given Health & Safety advice when bowling and instruction on how to bowl better and safely. Finally they were rewarded  with a trip to the bowling alley.

TEDDY BEAR'S PICNIC

Going on a Bear Hunt - our Toddler Group, with their parents and/or carers went on a Bear Hunt in the Community Initiative grounds to find a grizzly bear. They had to travel through grass, mud, water, a forest and a snow storm to finally find the bear's cave. After they found the cave they sat and had a picnic with the bear and his friends. He thanked them for their company and gave each of them a balloon and waved them goodbye as they went on their way. Everyone had a really nice time.
